This lovely couple was referred to me by Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah, Washington, a venue where I have shot two weddings so far and have two more on the calendar for this year. What fun it was to get to know them and do their shoot!
Alison and Chris originally met at Gonzaga University in Spokane, where Alison was studying to be a nurse (she recently graduated with her degree). The two have had some distance between them in their relationship with Chris being in the army and stationed in Columbus, Georgia. But they have managed to make it work—Alison is planning on moving down to be with Chris, and then the two will come back to be married in August at the Trinity Tree Farm.
Chris arrived from Georgia the morning of the shoot to do these engagement photos, and the two spent the rest of the weekend together, planning the wedding and cherishing the short time they had together before Chris had to go back to base. We took a variety of photos all over the grounds at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, including some of the beautiful ring, which belonged to Chris’s great grandmother.
The two were so incredibly friendly. I did not know them before this shoot, but they have the kind of personality that makes you want to be their friend right away. They said they planned on having a really laid back wedding—they will both be wearing Converse shoes, and just want their guests to relax and have fun. Sounds great to me!
