A couple weeks ago, my good friend Brooke asked me to shoot her 40th birthday party. Of course I accepted, and I knew I was in for a treat when it came time for the shoot — Brooke has an impeccable sense of style, and every time I see her I feel like I’m in Paris (which just so happens to be her favorite city). She really knows how to put an outfit together, so I knew she was going to look fabulous for her party.
For those of you interested in exactly what she wore, the skirt was a handmade tulle “wendy” skirt blush from Space46 Boutique. Her top came from Kate Spade, and her shoes were Bagley Mischka “Pearson” pumps in vanilla satin.
Brooke’s party was at the Arctic Hotel in Seattle, so we took some photos out on the balcony of her room, which had some tremendous views of the Smith Tower. Once we finished up indoors, we went outside and took some photos right outside the building. This hotel is an older building, and I just loved its architecture.
When the shoot was over the guests began to arrive, and everyone was able to hang out and have a few drinks and appetizers at the Polar Bar in the hotel lobby. What a fun way to celebrate a great friend turning 40 in such an iconic hotel, being surrounded by plenty of other great friends as well.
If this is what 40 looks like then I am ready, because she makes 40 look SO good!
