Spring time engagement photo shoots always have such a poetic feeling to them. You get the leaves and trees literally blooming in the background, with the subjects of the photos also just at the blooming stage of their relationship as well.

So when Elizabeth and Zach told me they wanted to have their photo shoot at Parsons Gardens in Seattle, I knew we were in for a special set of photos.

This is quite an artistic couple — Zach is a talented musician and was just accepted to Gonzaga to get his Masters in teaching. Elizabeth is a dancer and a ballet instructor. They are getting married in August at the Golf Club at Newcastle.

My favorite time of day to shoot any photos is about an hour before sunset, a time often referred to as the “Golden Hour” when the sun gets just low enough that it adds a golden hue to everything it touches. It makes for some really magical images, and on this particular evening we just so happened to have an absolutely gorgeous sunset.

I had a lot of fun with this shoot. Zach is a hilarious guy, and kept making us laugh throughout the entire evening. When there are so many laughs during an engagement session, it just makes the smiles and happiness in the photos seem so much more natural.

Thank you to Elizabeth and Zach for allowing me to be a part of this special time in your lives!
