I recently had the opportunity to shoot the wedding of Lauren and Suvir, which was a beautiful event on a picture perfect day.
I actually met Lauren while shooting the wedding of a different Lauren a couple years ago. She was one of the bridesmaids for that wedding, and when she contacted me to do her own wedding I was honored and beyond excited. For me, having other brides refer me to their friends is the ultimate compliment.
On the day of the wedding, my second shooter Keisha and I showed up at the Hyatt at Olive 8 hotel, where Lauren was getting ready.
I have to say — Lauren was the calmest bride I’ve ever seen in my life. She was remarkably relaxed! She spent some time showing us all of the jewelry she was wearing and telling us about its sentimental value to her. It had belonged to her fiancé’s mother, who had passed away. It was given to Lauren only the night before by her sister-in-law and father-in-law.
While Lauren was putting on her jewelry, Suvir just so happened to arrive, so it was perfect timing for him to help put her put on the jewelry and finish getting ready.
Once they were dressed and ready to go, we all headed over to the Lake Union Café, which was the site of the ceremony. We did the couples photos at a nearby park, and took family photos just outside the venue.
The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast. People danced all night to some pretty excellent music performed by a live band.
At the end of the night with help from Keisha I was able to get a picture of myself with Lauren and Tyler (my past couple), Lauren and Suvir (my current couple) and Alyssa and Brad (whose wedding I’m shooting in October and whose engagement photos I took the next day). Overall, it was a great evening and I’m so fortunate to have been a part of it!
