When my friend Nicole Conner Photography asked if I would be interested in collaborating on a styled shoot at the Gorge, I was beyond excited. I’ve known Nicole since high school, and we’ve been able to reconnect in the last few years through our shared passion for photography.
You know the saying “it takes a village?” Well, this styled shoot took a whole lot more than just a village. It took many different vendors throughout the Seattle area and Wenatchee Valley to give us their support, which made it possible for us to perform our first-ever desert-styled photoshoot. The result truly an amazing experience.
There are many people that I need to thank, who helped to make it possible:
We got started at Cave B Resort & Winery at the Gorge, where there were some remarkably breathtaking views. The gracious staff let us hang out there all day, even supplying a great room for styling and getting ready.
We also must thank the wonderful staff at A Princess Bride Couture in Bothell, who let us borrow all of the stunning and dreamy wedding gowns used in the shoot. Not only were they incredibly sweet, but they have a keen eye for style and finding the right look for all of their customers.
For makeup we had the beautiful and talented Gaylinyet, who traveled from Seattle with myself and one of our gorgeous models, Ashley Cunningham.
Also from Seattle we had our friend Theresa from Althauser Design, who we met at the GO LIVE HQ workshop back in January. She put together the beautiful bridal bouquet, flower crowns and simple bouquets for our bridesmaids.
From Platinum Studios in Wenatchee we had the lovely Laura Anaya, who did some unique and elegant hair styles for all of our models.
Heather from HRJ Events in Leavenworth put together our jaw-dropping Spanish/desert-inspired tablescape, and I cannot emphasize enough how beautifully it turned out.
The naked cake by Cupcake Blues in Wenatchee not only looks marvelous, but also tastes delicious! Kudos to everyone there.
The dazzling balloons spelling LOVE were generously donated by Merriment Party Goods in Wenatchee.
Thank you to Dixie at Seattle Met Bride and Groom Magazine for providing copies of the current issue to all the vendors who contributed to our shoot.
Reese from Simple Light Photography was key in helping us to create beautiful photographs of our models.
Finally, we have to give a huge shout out to all of the beautiful models that we worked with—the shoot could not have happened without you! And thank you once again to Ashley from Seattle, and Gaylinyet, who not only did makeup but also got into a wedding dress of her own to model for us. Of course, thank you to our real bride Stephanie, as well as the beautiful ladies that Nicole scouted: Cory, Mary and Emily. You ladies rock it!
