Brittany & Tim | Beecher Hill House

I recently had the opportunity to shoot a beautiful wedding at one of my favorite venues in Peshastin — the Beecher Hill House. The lovely couple was Tim and Brittany, who knew each other in middle school, and reunited three years ago. Tim was Brittany’s first love in 7th grade, and since they met once again they have been inseparable. Together they have a 15-month-old baby girl named Emma.

One of the reasons I love Beecher Hill House, aside from how beautiful it is, is how friendly the staff is. Pam and the rest of the folks at Beecher Hill are incredibly nice and welcoming, not only to the couple and their guests but also to all the vendors that work with them. Going back and shooting weddings there always feels like going home to me.

That alone was going to make this a special, heartwarming ceremony for me. All of the personal touches put in by the couple made it an even more memorable occasion. The theme of the wedding was “peacock,” and included peacock shoes, hair pieces, cake and even peacock feathers in the bouquet.

The children were definitely excited to be involved in the day. Emma got to be a flower girl, along with her cute little cousin, Kara. The ring bearer was Carter, Tim’s son.

Brittany was about as calm as a bride could possibly be throughout the whole day. There were some very touching emotional moments as she was putting on her dress, during the first look, and, of course, during the ceremony. I love seeing how every couple shows their emotions, and Brittany was truly special to watch as I could see just how happy she was to be marrying Tim.

A particularly special moment came when Brittany surprised Tim by singing Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love.” It was a gorgeous rendition of the song, and brought many to tears!

I love being able to photograph weddings where I finish shooting and feel like I’ve just made friends for life, not just with the couple but with the bridal party. This was one of those occasions, and I feel fortunate to have taken part!
