Angelica and Sean’s Wedding at The 101

Every wedding is special, but this one truly meant something to me. I was beside myself when Angelica, my associate photographer, asked me to photograph her wedding day. It made me excited but equally nervous. I never want to let down a bride, let alone my best friend!

The location was everything. Angelica and Sean choose the perfect location in the Pacific Northwest in the heart of Pioneer Square in Seattle for their wedding. Pioneer Square is rich with history, views and good times—not to mention amazing food! Angelica and Sean held their special day at The 101, a grand hall laden with brick and wooden pillars.

A first look with fur babies

On February 22nd of this year, it was time to say, “I do.” Angelica’s aunt reserved a presidential suite to get ready in and for their first look. It was held in the Embassy Suite by Hilton with balcony views of downtown Seattle and the waterfront. They got ready in style, to say the least!

Most couples would be nervous at this point, but not Angelica and Sean. They were the most relaxed couple I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Both of them have such loving friends and family who were there every step of the way. I could really feel the love all around.

What came next is a moment I will never forget. Angelica and Sean wanted to share the first look with their adorable pups, Etana and Doug! Huge props to Tamara and Lindsey from Emerald Media for capturing the sweet moment on video. Nothing can make a first look better than two lovable fur babies. Etana even wore a flower garland that matched Angelica’s bouquet.

Speaking of outfits, it warmed my heart to see my best friend in her stunning bridal gown. And that veil! It billowed in the wind so beautifully, giving me tons of opportunities to capture how epic it was. Sean was very handsome in his deep green suit and stood out from the groomsmen with a floral tie. The bridesmaids wore elegant dresses, each with a unique design.

Getting the party started at the 101

There’s no better venue for a Pioneer Square Seattle wedding than The 101. Its brick walls matched the cobblestone walkways of Pioneer Square. The hall was very spacious, providing plenty of room for the ceremony and wedding reception. The best part was Etana and Doug were allowed to attend! For Angelica and Sean, a pet-friendly venue was a must.

The reception was a blast from beginning to end thanks to Jacqui and Wes from Wunderland Events. They kept the music going all night long and entertained guests with their feel-good energy. I highly recommend Jacqui and Wes—they can get anyone up and dancing!

My photos weren’t the only ones taken at the wedding. My good friends Ammy and Hien were there, and they brought a photo booth for everyone to enjoy (including myself). I loved that Angelica and Sean rented a photo booth for their reception. It was super popular among guests and gave each person a memento to bring home.

I’m incredibly honored for the privilege of capturing my best friend’s big day. The occasion overflowed with dancing, laughing and tears of joy. Thank you, Angelica and Sean, for making me part of a wedding I’ll always remember. Here’s to photographing another Pioneer Square Seattle wedding someday soon!
