Sometimes I really feel like God has a destiny for the couples he puts in my life. I’d only met Lisa and Alex a few weeks before their wedding, but when I did, I could tell they were going to be the absolutely perfect couple to photograph, and that they were going to have an amazing future together.
Both of the two of them were incredibly relaxed, and placed their trust in me as their photographer. I feel that the more my clients trust in me, the better the pictures turn out and the more natural they look in front of the camera. That definitely turned out to be the case with their photos!
The moment I showed up to the wedding venue (The Kelley Farm), Lisa came over to me and gave me all of the details as per my wedding guide I put together for my brides. That made my job so much easier, because I was able to get there and begin taking pictures right away.
The weekend of the wedding featured a big wind and rain storm in Western Washington. But Sunday, the day of Lisa and Alex’s wedding, the sun came out, and it was a beautiful day. There was no wind or rain until we were done with the formal photos and the cocktail hour, and everyone had already got inside the venue. It was almost immediately after everyone was inside that it just began to pour—and I mean pour! God was really looking out for this couple on their wedding day.
I loved shooting at The Kelly Farm, which was a new venue for me. It was simply picture perfect, and we were able to capture beautiful photos all over the property. One of my favorite moments was during the first look. Alex looked at Lisa in a way that is truly hard to describe. You could almost hear him saying to himself, “I’m such a lucky guy.”
There is nothing I love more than photographing couples who clearly love each other so much!
