Another Seattle wedding is in the books! In the early fall of 2021, I got to photograph a wedding at Edlynn Farm for the very first time. I was honored when Lauren and Ryan asked me to be their photographer. The farm is beautiful, but nothing compares to the love they have for each other.
This wasn’t the first time Lauren and I met each other. We actually met when I photographed the wedding for her sister Carley a little while back. I love reconnecting with families later down the road. It’s such an honor to photograph the weddings of people from the same family!
The astounding beauty of Edlynn Farm
I was very excited to hear the wedding would take place at Edlynn Farm. This was my first time visiting there, and I can confidently say that it’s even more beautiful in person! When guests arrived, they were immediately greeted by a barn-style grand hall. Inside the hall, guests couldn’t help but look up at the chandeliers and tall vaulted ceiling.
And the views! This farm has a clear view of Mount Rainier sitting on the horizon. The snow-capped mountain perfectly captures the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the property is surrounded by tall evergreen trees that created a breathtaking backdrop for Lauren and Ryan’s wedding. There’s nothing but beautiful woods for miles.
A day filled with Pacific Northwest charm
Before the ceremony, Lauren and Ryan had their first look in front of the grand hall’s impressive double doors. They read their vows back-to-back before Lauren made her big reveal. The way her veil billowed in the wind was just gorgeous! When they turned around, the expressions on their faces said it all. Lauren looked like a stunning princess, and Ryan was her handsome prince charming.
All the little details made for a beautiful late summer wedding. The flowers, table settings and bride’s maids dresses were a soft orange hue that was very appropriate for the season. The aisle was lined with pampas grass in green vases, and the arbor was the same warm tone of the wooden grand hall. The florists and designers did a wonderful job matching the color scheme to the surrounding landscape!
After a beautiful ceremony, we all made our way to the reception. The wedding party gave their speeches, then Lauren and Ryan had a very emotional first dance, as well as two heartwarming dances with their parents. We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying a buffet-style dinner and the most adorable mini cupcakes.
Ending the festivities with a joyful sendoff
We partied the whole rest of the night. The DJ had a great selection of music that got the guests on their feet. There was even a photo booth! Everyone had lots of fun holding signs and dressing up in party accessories. At some point in the evening, Lauren and Ryan got the whole room’s attention with the newlywed game. We definitely knew a lot more about the couple after that!
After a long night of laughing, dancing and partying, everyone sent off Lauren and Ryan with bubbles that filled the air. It was a great opportunity to photograph the couple surrounded by their loving friends and family. The perfect ending to the perfect day!
