Emily and Jacob got married at the Saltbox Barn on picturesque Fir Island, surrounded on all sides by beautiful views and tranquil nature. It was my first time shooting this stunning venue and I had no trouble finding amazing backdrops for the couple. Every angle was a photogenic opportunity!
Both Emily and Jacob are teachers. Their relaxed and caring personalities were immediately evident to me and everyone around them. Every photo captures exactly who they are—vibrant smiles, caring eyes and a lighthearted demeanor.
No pre-ceremony jitters from this couple! Both were cool-headed and calm before the wedding—Jacob walking around barefoot in swim trunks; Emily laughing with her ladies in the barn. Even when apart, it’s clear they’re perfect for each other.
After the ceremony, the reception was truly a celebration! Despite weeks of practice, Emily’s best friends got a little tongue-tied delivering their speech, which turned the lyrics of a popular Taylor Swift song into something completely unique. Jacob’s father followed with a toast that brought everyone to tears. This wedding had the full range of emotions on display!
Photographing this couple at sunset was a dream, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. The hundreds of acres of protected farmland on Fir Island paint a natural landscape for breathtaking summer sunsets. We were fortunate enough to capture several great shots with the cornfields in the background, illuminated by the red-gold hues of the setting sun. The couple even got to bring the father of the grooms classic Mustang into the yard for some very cool shots!
The serene outdoor venue, coupled with the heartwarming personalities of Emily and Jacob made this such a fun wedding. The photos tell the whole story—Emily, looking so happy and content, and Jacob beaming every time he looked at her.
