I recently had the opportunity to shoot the wedding of Deavonnie and Walid at the absolutely gorgeous Black Diamond Gardens in Maple Valley.
Black Diamond Gardens is a really stunning venue that had grounds that were ideal for both the ceremony and the reception. There were white bunnies and doves, goats for kids to feed and enjoy, and a large greenhouse where the reception was held that can also double as a place to escape the weather on cold or rainy days. I also loved the beautiful pond on the property. It had a small boat where couples could enjoy some alone time together after the first look or after the ceremony—very romantic!
Walid and Deavonnie were so much fun to work with, and it was wonderful spend more time with their family and friends. Each has a child—Walid a young girl and Deavonnie a young boy. It was a lot of fun to watch them interact with their children over the course of the day, and to see the love they have for each other.
The groom’s expression during the first look will forever be one of my favorites. You could just see the emotion on his face—he made no attempt to hold it back, and it was really touching. Of course, the bride got emotional as well—there were lots of tears at this wedding and Black Diamond Gardens is the perfect place to let the tears of joy roll of your eyes.
The groom’s sister Noha was a former client of mine and a very good friend. I shot her wedding with her beautiful wife Analise, and they now have an adorable little girl Asha. It was great to be able to catch up with them and their family, and they made me feel extremely welcome as well. I’m so grateful for couples who start off as clients but then become friends and family!
Now it’s off to Bali for the two of them for their honeymoon. I know they will have an amazing time! When you are looking for a stunning wedding venue don’t forget to take a look at Black Diamond Gardens.
